I have always had a keen interest in training and nutrition playing semi-professional rugby and regularly training in the gym. Prior to meeting Tom I felt like I had a good grasp of nutritional principles however in hindsight my knowledge was fairly limited.
I first teamed up with Tom in 2012 initially following a 5 week training and nutrition plan with the aim being to reduce body fat whilst maintaining lean muscle. I was really pleased with the results so we decided to work together on an ongoing basis. I had regular reviews approximately every 3 months with Tom and we modified my training and nutrition based on my goals and how my body was responding. (Bulking and cutting phases).
The turning point came in 2014 when I decided to take my physique to the next level. I entered a Men’s Physique Competition in May 2014 and signed up to a 12 week competition prep package. This involved weekly reviews with Tom and regular dietary changes according to how my body was responding. Tom also tweaked my training plan in the run up to the competition. I was lucky enough to qualify for the British Championships which was to be held in October 2014 where I would be competing against the best Physiques in the UK.
I completed another 12 week block in the run up to the British Championships. By this point Tom knew how my body responded and we were able to improve my physique further. Tom put a lot of time and effort into making me the best that I could be. Every Tuesday we would have a review which could take an hour each time. We would also work on posing and assess body fat levels. The plan was modified as required and 100% tailored to my individual needs. Tom also formulated my pre contest training programme, again making modifications as required and learning how my body responds to different stimulus.
Tom is extremely approachable and friendly and has time for everyone whether you are an elite athlete or a beginner. I have learnt so much working with Tom and I’m still following a large amount of principles that Tom has taught me over the last few years. Eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring and it is now a sustainable lifestyle change thanks to Tom’s wisdom. Tom is passionate about training and nutrition and this is infectious providing daily motivation to reach your goals whatever they may be.
I am lucky to now class Tom as a good friend following our 3 year journey together and have recommended him to my close friends and family!
